Is it bad if a stranger on the internet asks for my Twitter the first time we chat?

Question

I started talking to a random girl on a private social media website and she knew i was newbie to it and just after a few messages she asked for my twitter. I responded with a no but asked her why and she didn't respond.

Yes! You are entitled to anonymity. They are strangers and you don't know them. Got a lot of crazies out here, lot of scammers, everything else. And the fact that she didn't respond to tell you that is a red flag be careful who you associate on these websites and apps. Some may also not be who they say they are.

Yes, I would never give someone out on my Social Media
if I had Twitter or by Email.. There are few friends on here
have my emails but I trust them and that is why we exchange
emails and I keep them personal and you need to be careful
on any website you go on the Internet can be dangerous.

it's like they think you can skip the develop trust part which involves effort

Yes @chocobrowniemonster You won't believe these scammers out there and
they are on here too.. Believe it or not I had to change my password on here due to
people adding their self on my GAG account here and someone hacked me and
blocked some person.. So it's happened twice to me on here so I am careful

ahh i see, that seems perfectly fine as instagram is an app to share pictures and private message.
she first thought to get me talk to her on an app called Kik which i agreed, then within a few messages she suggests twitter. Well now I've deleted kik and told her i didn't like her asking for twitter (if she'd told me why soonish i wouldn't be feel so uncomfortable)
