Her male friend thought that of me as well & when things got out of hand we got into a petty scuffle

The girl ended up panicking & quickly called the cops

Maybe. Chicks in general are more likely to call the cops regardless of whether they provoked it or not. If their male was winning they obviously wouldn't call. Good for you dude !
