How did you feel when you turned 28?

I think there is a divide in a [woman's] life when she decides she's done with the partying and nonsense, and wants to represent herself as being more mature before her 20s are over. For me, that year was 28. Up until that year, I was usually out at clubs, drinking, dancing, and on a few occasions, being promiscuous. But those things didn't define me. I also had a career and responsibilities that I didn't want to let down. I just needed my personal life to reflect that.

My 27th birthday was a gong show. I had blacked out, after drinking too much. I can't really blame anyone but myself - but I had friends coax me into going out, and feeding me booze and hearing the constant "come on!" whenever I tried to shove a drink away. After getting so drunk, you'd think a friend or two would step in and say, "leave her alone, she's plastered, she shouldn't have anymore". But no. It made me realize that not only did I forget half of my birthday night out, but I got to see how my own friends treated me. I made an effort to change when I was 27, and a new me celebrated very, very differently at 28.

Some people were too stupid to let the old me go, and welcome the new me. The egged me to drink, and couldn't accept that I was moving on and deciding on a much different life. The Ozanne I am now became that person.

So if you have similar thoughts on what direction you're taking in life, this is a wonderful year to do it, and I hope this is the best birthday you will have yet! :) xo

Uh well I felt normal then like the next month started trying for a kid so I felt stress and excitement. Did not feel elegant lol more like ah fuck I'm old I need to start popping out babies.

I started to get my shit together when I was 25 and those 3 years was quite eventful and fun so I was really satisfied with being 28. My birthday was just a few days before lockdown, but we already had tier3 hence going out was not really an option, I just stayed home made Chinese food and invoted my friends over. I just kinda started to think the way that I do stuff because that's the right thing to do as a member of society. Before I'd jump public transport and try to talk myself out from anything. And now all the sudden it just feels good to take responsibility. 28 strange number.

It was a very happy day for me it was also my golden birthday. I went home for holidays and bring my ex-boyfriend with me we had a nice dinner with my family at a wonderful restaurant apart from the happiness I didn't feel anything else.

I'll know in 6 years 😔 but i agree with you. I hope to be even more mature by then, have a steady job, and have completed some goals i have set for myself. I wanna build myself up as best as i can but the same time enjoy my 20s.

When I was 28 I had a wife, a child, a townhouse, two cars and was working in the Fortune 500 with a good job. I had already graduated college and left the military. I felt like a grown up, a man.
