It could be that she is shy, confused, or it might be both. It depends on the sort of smile you gave her. Was it a smirk? Whether or not it was a real smile or a smirk, if he doesn't say anything to me I would look away, act like I'm doing something on my phone, turn my back towards him or walk away like it didn’t happen, and it was all in my head.
