Asked this girl out and she said "maybe"

Hi everyone,

I need your guys help trying to figure this one out. So I just met this girl about a week before I left my old job and I felt we hit things off pretty well. I definitely felt like I was getting signs that she was interested (tons of smiling/laughing, touching, and she repeatedly made references to being single). One of the ladies I worked with actually asked me before I left if I asked this girl out and she mentioned that she thought we looked really good together. Long story short, I asked this girl if she'd be interested in going out with me sometime and she started laughing before eventually saying 'maybe.' I think the laughing may come from being taken off guard as I just kinda asked it out of the blue, but I could be wrong. When I told her that it was really a yes/no question, she than said 'yes' and gave me her number. We've texted a little since, but I haven't asked her out again.

My question is this: Is this anything I should pursue or was she just trying to let me down easy? If she was indeed interested, why give this bs 'maybe' response?

You may have caught her off guard, or she took it to be more formal than it was meant to be? I'd suggest asking her out one more time, but with a specific day, place, or event in mind. Keep it casual, like "hey I was gonna go try out this restaurant and was wondering if you'd like to go?". If she says no, or dances around the topic then I'd let it go but by giving specifics it should help keep you away from the elusive 'maybe sometime in the future' answer.

Ask me if I'm interested and my first answer if I was trying to play hard to get would be maybe. You didn't really ask her out the first time so of course she would say maybe! ha ha ask her out and take her out! She f***ing wants you hahaha what other signs do you need?

she was taken off guard,mayb wasn't prepared for it.that's why she gave that mayb.if she wasn't interested then she wudn't hav giveb you her no. or texted u.so,u should wait a bit more & try asking her out again & then see her response.best of luck!

You didn't ask her out, that's why she said Maybe.

You said "Would you be interested in going out with me sometime?" That's as vague as vague could be. That's why it was a maybe.

Now, if you had actually asked her out, and he said Maybe... "Would you like to get a drink after work?" "Maybe" then I'd say she's just being coy and not at all serious with you.

But you came in with a wishy-washy question, so you got a wishy-washy answer.
