Science Says Most Women Don't Have PMS ... Any Thoughts?

According to the National Institutes of Health, only 3% to 7% of women actually have Pre-Menstrual Syndrome. Link: link

More recent studies from the Journal of Women's Health suggest that somewhere 19% to 30% of women have PMS. Link: link

These studies indicate that between 70% of women and 97% of women _do not_ have PMS, never have had PMS and never will have PMS.

Do these facts mean that many women who claim that PMS causes their mood swings are lying or mistaken? If so, are these women using PMS to excuse unreasonable or abusive behavior?

Do these facts mean that women themselves don't understand their bodies and health? Are women fooling themselves, or tragically misinformed?

Might women not understand the medical definition of PMS?

Are women mistaking other health problems for PMS?

Any other thoughts?
