This is so funny because it's both weird and accurate.Weird because most people say "well America broke away from Britain, the language was theirs first." Yes... but also accurate because the British accent developed after America broke away, as a way to sound more elite (look it up). Therefore this comment made me really happy.

British isn't a accent either there's Queens British, Scottish, Welsh, Liverpudlian but its just easier to say "American" or "British" lol instead of listening every accent within the country.
Britain covers a lot less space than America does... foreigners only ever think of one accent and New Yorkers often have NO idea what a person from Wyoming is saying lol
There are also three different catagories to the Australian accent as well, ranging from the really bogan regional accent to one that sounds very British (for lack of a better word) and the other one is a mix of both.
