What is your opinion to body hair on women?

Guys, I understand why most of you don't really like body hair on a woman. All I'm asking for is the "why" behind it. Really do some introspective thinking:
Is it your preference?
Is it because in our Western culture, female body hair is shamed?
Or is a little bit of both?
As an Italian and Portuguese woman, I'm not graced with light body hair anywhere besides the top of my thighs and my arms. I'm just curious for your opinion.
And please, no ignorant "Because that sh! t is nasty as hell!" first responses. I want a real answer.
Updates:
To clarify, I only mean hair on our legs, under our arms, in the pubic area, and everywhere else its normally like on your arms. I don't mean everywhere!

  • Anyone below the age of like 24 are part of the 'Internet Porn' generation.
Where literally every female p*rnstar is completely shaved.
Back in the early 2000's and the 90's models in p*rn magazines had hair.
Clearly since the Internet started getting big for p*rn that has changed.

Now women are 'expected' to have no hair. Me, personally I don't really find it attractive. A little bit of hair's okay. But a full-on bush kinda puts me off :P

  • It has little or nothing to do with culture. It is just we love women's bodies! We love looking at them holding them and caressing them! It is just that smooth skin feels oh so much better than overly hairy scratchy skin. Although I have know several women who although they didn't shave for weeks or months, it was almost impossible to tell as they didn't have much or scratchy hair.

  • I think that it is an acquired preference given to me by living in the US for my whole life. The following parts are places where it is natural for women to grow hair: light hair on legs, forearms, thighs, pits, and thicker levels of hair on eyebrows, head, and pubic region. These areas it is natural for women to have hair, but anywhere else is a hormone or bodily issue. If most women let these areas go, they won't effect a males sexual attraction towards them, but if it is shaved it increases visual appeal. If all these areas are shaved or at least trimmed short, because of modern culture, it is more pleasing to the eye. But wether it is shaved or not doesn't effect actual sexual attraction. If you don't follow, let me put it more simply: It looks better if you shave it, but if you don't shave it guys won't be instantly turned off

  • To be honest, I've never even cared about body hair on girls. It's natural.

    • Exactly! We were designed as humans to have hair for warmth. It's natural to have hair, I wish more people just accepted that it is natural even though most women shave it off

    • I've encountered yet another genuinely intuitive young man today. Must be my lucky day! It is gross, especially when we as women aren't give a chance to express how we feel about men's hair down there. Such a double standard in that regard in my opinion

    • Well thanks for your kind words. And yes, I agree with you on the whole double standard thing.

  • I've been raised in a world where women aren't supposed to have hair, so my taste on women have been build around that. Just like women where I'm from don't like hair on guys either, which made me dislike hair on my body too.
I don't like body hair, I prefer if a women shaved. I don't mind arm hair, or on her belly, but I wouldn't be attracted if it was dark thick hair.

  • Men have hair women don't Its always been seen this way, if you have an issue where you have to shave your face and have hair on your butt you can get something done about that

  • Long pubic hair feels nasty in my mouth (though unless she just shaved the post shave stubble is gonna scratch my nose raw) aside from that, as long as she does not have an excessive amount (ie classic lumberjack) of hair on her limbs or armpit then I don't mind.

  • I like the smooth feeling of hairless legs touching my own legs. I don't like to taste hair, so no pubic hair please and since almost no one shampoos it, it has this weird feeling to have pressed against my face. And I would like to ask a similar question to you, why don't you or women like men with shaven legs on a guy? Yes I am assuming as a you are a woman you don't like guys with shaven legs, because I remember seeing a question about whether women like men with shaven legs or not, and every single one said no and taht it was kinda weird or almost gross looking.

    • Thank you for the counter-argument. For the reason that we all don't like to see women with natural body hair, I was raised to believe that men should wear their body hair proudly, but if a man did shave, I wouldn't mind. Whenever we go to water parks as a family, my dad shaves his underarms. Always has since I was young, so I see no problem with it. I've also dated a man who shaves his legs simply because he likes the feeling of it and I didn't think it was weird at all. It's a personal preference for men, though for the same reasons women are kind of forced into shaving their legs, men are kind of forced into not shaving it (not that most men would want to anyways)

  • Don't really care about it

  • Smooth, soft skin is feminine. Body hair is not.

I know there is this movement to try to change that but it ain't gonna happen.

I'm sorry but men don't like hairy women.

  • Honestly I don't shave and guys still like me anyway, it's just an individual preference thing. Don't ever change because you aren't good enough, the people who say that are just selfish

    • It's hard when I have dark leg hair and dark under arm hair, not to mention my hair is thick so it looks like I never shaved even if I do shave smooth. It's annoying, I'm glad you have found that you don't shave and guys still like you! My boyfriend lets me do whatever I want with my unwanted hair, but I'm still leaning towards shaving it because that's simply how I was brought up

    • @asker Do whatever makes you happiest! And/or most comfortable

  • Because I've been conditioned over my whole life to believe that women should have their legs and armpits shaved. It's really that simple.
