Do guys prefer natural girls or girls who wear makeup?

Question

So I always hear guys say they like naturally pretty girl and then they always have the crush on or date the girls with a face fall of makeup and covered in fake tan and have hair extensions in, I'm not being bitchy I'm sure them girls probably have a lovely personality as well, (well some probably do but not the ones I've met, the nice girl is a whole, fake act usually when their in front of the boys) but any way I don't get guys like that. I don't know if guys just don't realise that's not what they look like, without makeup.

I'm constantly told I'm naturally pretty and how lovely a person I am (i know it's hard to believe from reading this ) but I've always noticed the bitchy fake girls with a shit ton of makeup on usually get the guy and maybe I'm a bit salty today because I'm sick of experiencing this myself but I'm feeling like joining the club of fake bitches lately.

I personally prefer moe natural girls, but makeup tends to project a more sexualized image. I think that is why they get more attention. They basically look more like porn stars. My advice as a guy who is pretty visually-oriented is to focus primarily on your health. I was just swiping through a dating website and noticed how many of the girls there seemed to have spent more time and money on dying their hair, putting on fake eyelashes, tanning, makeup, etc. than exercising, eating right, sleeping well, and socializing. If you socialize more, live healthily, learn to dress well, and maybe accentuate that with light, seductive makeup, you will be 100 x as attractive as some girl with fake boobs, bags under her eyes and caked makeup on badly-tanned skin. It's the whole thought process that's wrong: Beauty is inside-out. You have to start with the fundamentals, and that is being healthy, of good character, and well-connected. The rest is just icing on the cake.

Depends. Some people wear their personality well - not just make up but clothes, others not so much. Sometimes you can see someone doesn't know who they are or what they want. Other people, you can tell they are focused and ambitious from a mile away. Really the same goes for everyone. So I see it as another channel for expression.

I like make up, but I appreciate and visually enjoy well applied make up that is appropriate for the situation (which is of course subject to personal opinion)

If a girl has a great base that doesn't need make up, way more power to her. If she simply doesn't like wearing make up, more power to her.

Make up, definitely. No matter how much guys deny that, their actions say otherwise. I don't wear make up most of the time, but when I do (mind you, I don't have acne or invisible eyebrows and eyelashes), I suddenly get 10× more attention. Coincidence? I don't think so...

That's just because makeup makes you appear interested and "easy". Just show guys pictures of girls with and without makeup and ask to them who they'd prefer for a long term relationship/marriage and you'll ok know.

The same exact reason why most girls don't want nice guys- because they don't have to put effort and are looking for fun just like many young guys. Personally makeup is a complete turn off. I prefer a feminine girl with a healthy body, is content with looks, has respect for her body and has a strong personality. Nothing's more attractive than that.

Yeah, here comes the "nice guy" argument which is just plain bullshit. First of all, if you (in general) need to describe yourself as "nice", chances are you aren't actually that nice. Secondly, most self-proclaimed "nice guys" are faking it to get in a girl's pants. I'm still in high school and I see many girls in relationship with guys who aren't assholes.

A "real guy" will prefer a girl who is proud to just be herself.
Whether you wear makeup or not will not be the deciding factor for any boy you should want anything to do with.
If you have to "make yourself" into someone you are not for him then he is not worth the time it would take to put any makeup on.

I know guy's who compliment girls for being natural but the girl is just wearing makeup that looks natural. "Makeup that looks natural"? Interesting. The only reason you might have noticed guys approaching such girls would be because girls with makeup appear 'interested', available and sexed. Girls not wearing makeup sometimes appear to be serious/satisfied. But I bet when a guy's looking for a long term/serious relationship he'd definitely prefer the one without makeup. It's just the same reason why strippers and hookers wear a ton of makeup that's the kind of attention they're looking for, they're not looking for guys to propose or be in a relationship.

I definitely would care, just like you would care when dressing for a job. When you want the benefits of a nice guy/ a guy looking for a long term relationship dress like one that he'd find attractive. Dress slutty if that's the kind of attention you're looking, you definitely are going to be approached more if that's what you want. But ultimately I'd say be honest and dress honest- it reflects your personality.

Cool, but why do you think guys would ever have to bluff about liking natural girls? I'm not trying to say there are guys who don't like girls with a little makeup, but in general being a guys and having a lot of guy friends I can say with confidence most guys would seek to be in a long-term relationship with a natural beauty (okay little makeup is acceptable) over a girl with heavy make up. But as I said before, girls that dress up definitely signal availability/interest. For example, in my University the is an opinion that a lot of Arab/ Muslim, Asian women are drop dead gorgeous (we at least get to see their faces) but they are hardly approached as much as the rest because their dressing and their demeanor just doesn't show any sexual interest (which I think is exactly the concept behind hijab) but given the chance I'm sure a lot of guys would want to be with them too.

A guy says he finds a girl naturally beautiful but in reality that girl is actually wearing foundation, concealer, mascara, eyeliner, sometimes even fake lashes and they don't even realize it. And then I see the same guys say they like girls who don't wear makeup but the girls who actually don't wear makeup they don't even make any comments about them. Ofcourse there are beautiful girls that don't need makeup at all. But that's rare to see in my opinion lol But perhaps it's different from where i'm from. Latino guys usually like girls with makeup. And I'm gonna tell you something, maybe some of them girls wear make up to feel confident and feel better with themselves not just to 'Get the guy'. I think there should be a middle ground, for people who like a few coats of mascara and self tanner and a good manicure. I enjoy looking nice, and while I’m attractive without makeup, I do like the extra wow factor with a little bit of it on.

I mean, I feel like there's a happy medium. I do makeup because I cosplay, but it's also creeped into my life beyond nerd-conventions. I feel like light makeup can be fun to do, and I usually stick to some concealer, eyeliner, and light eye shadow. But don't do it just because you want a boyfriend. Do it because it makes you feel happy, and shows your artistic side.
