Why do guys take it as a compliment being called a hoe or a slut by girls?

Because they don't care, they actually feel proud, society doesn't pressure them to feel bad about it, a promiscuous guy will be praised by the women he's been with and by many non-jealous males as well, so they won't feel bad about it as your opinion would be seen as irrelevant and very unpopular.
