How can you know that your male best friend is never going to get attracted to you or have feelings for you?

My best friend - really he's my brother - is a obviously a guy. He gets along with my mother and sister like they are his mom and sister. He and I are so in sync. Like we finish each other's sentences, we say the same thing at the same time or if one of us is thinking it the other says it at that moment. We like most of the same things. He sleeps over my house for days at a time and it's either us playing video games, watching horror movies or making ramen noodles past midnight. We also fight like siblings too. Never once have him or I had any romantic feelings for each other. He saw me go through two long-term relationships back to back. And we've talked extensively to each other about the kind of people we like and who we are crushing on. People need stop acting like it's impossible to have guy friends that will never turn into more.

There is always a chance that he might fall for you back. There's also a chance that you might stop falling for him. But I can't tell you how possible it is because maybe you're just not his type. Maybe your personality vibes with him like it does with his bro's.

Any friends that I've ever liked/fell for was pretty instant or early on in the friendship. Or I'd always found them attractive, but becoming friends is what got me to like them more. So basically, if I'm not feeling you from the start or early on then it's not likely I'm gonna feel you later down the line.

You don't. Attraction is not something you can predict or avoid, it just happens.

I had a best guy friend in college that we were friends for over 4 years! And no, there was NO attraction on either side of us! Trust me, we both told others that assumed we were dating we would like brother and sister (and it's true too!) We did everything from studying to eating out together, and took the same classes.
My parents loved and trusted him because they considered him "safe." Yet I was never romantically interested in him, and vice versa: we were just platonic friends. And it was one of the best friendships I ever had-

But you cannot control falling for someone!!! If it happens, it happens. My point is, you can be friends with a guy without it turning into something more. Even now in my 30s, the majority of my friends are male and there is NO attraction on either side. Some people just get along better with the opposite sex, and as a result, they make stronger friends than romantic partners.

You can't. Attraction isn't a choice. You can only pick people who are less likely to act on it. That's really what matters anyways. The vaaaast majority of guy/girl relationships boil down to either there isn't attraction or there is, but outside circumstances are stopping you from acting on it

Maybe one person is in a relationship. Maybe they're hung up on the idea they've been friends for so long so they don't want to ruin anything. Whatever it may be. In my book. A friendship between guy and girl isn't a true friendship unless that's all both parties want. And when I say want I mean deep down from your soul what you want. Not what your logically telling yourself.

If you have a friend you want to fuck, but you tell yourself no. That's not a real friendship. That's someone you might have a connection with, whom you get along with and are both friendly. But you're not friends. You're sexual options who for one reason or another are choosing not to act on right now. Just not fucking doesn't make you friends

Well, think about you and your friends (women), do they? Not usually right? Same here. While yes it's possible, I'm thinking not likely. It also depends on a lot of things like how much time you spend together etc. How well you really know each other, things like that. But, for your own sake, if he's saying he doesn't feel the same, you might have to end this because you do have feelings, and you may not be able to handle the friendship (hurts to much knowing he doesn't feel the same). And if it never happens, you might end up "regretting" the time you've "wasted" on him down the road? This is why people don't normally stay friends when one catches feelings because it's too hard on the person that has them. If he just doesn't have any romantic feelings for you, that's how he can be firm, because he doesn't care. I'm sure he cares about the friendship, but it sounds like that's as far as it goes, so you should think about what is best for you here, because most likely, nothing will change for him.

based on my experienced, I had feeling for him in 2018. we had been best friend since 2016. and in 2019, he started looking for female dogs attention (he made an Instagram account) so since that time his attitude getting more worst towards me and I got tired being lovesick so I told him that I loved him. and he rejected me. it was the hardest part. and I started to got very bad depression. I cried, self murder, my body totally get hurts, stomachache in 3 months, skin getting more sensitive, and breakout due depression. I was wondering how come i am being 100% nice to him, we talked everyday, from day untill sleeping time. you just imagine... he rejected you. and one of his sentences is "I would never consider to date you" while you gather your courage to confessed him... so many articles, girls saying that he likes me. but all these totally false knowing he doesn't like me.

however, based on what I learnt, usually guys when they are being so close to you, does not mean they likes you. they mostly think of you as a male friend. the local movie I watched was right. sigh.

I mean, what, you want him to fall for you and ask you? Or are you hoping that by being silently around him you'll have a "notice me, senpai" moment and he'll ask you out?

There's a non-zero chance he might "catch feelings" (not how emotion works, but for example's sake). Just like you did.

But what happens if he does and you've already moved on?

What happens if he does, but figures you're not interested, and he asks someone else?

What's this obsession with "purity", too? What importance does that have for you two? Seems strange to me, but maybe I'm starting to get old.

Also know that you can never negotiate attraction and desire. It's either there or it's not.
Don't expect him to all of a sudden be interested if he's already told you he's not. There are likely more substantial reasons for his choices that you're not aware of.
