I’ve never had a man tell me I was gorgeous or beautiful before.

The only reason I am doubting any of it was because we were in bed when he said it... and for some reason that made it feel cheap.

You can't believe anything a guy says when he's in bed with you. He will call you gorgeous and tell you that he loves you, because that is how he feels at the moment, that's how you look to him at the moment, and he wants in so bad, he'll say whatever to get in. On the other hand, there is no reason to believe that could not have meant it. He may just find you gorgeous.

That is a good question, it happens all the time with "I love you" as well. I would see if he is willing to say it again outside of the bedroom to be sure.
