Guys, do you like it when your girl gives you space?

I saw an interesting little thing that talked about today vs yesterday.

Simply put it made some comparison that someone my age, 40's, grandparents (so people born in the early 1900's) who got married in their late teens have INTERACTED LESS THAN WE DO IN THE FIRST 2 YEARS IN A RELATIONSHIP WITH TEXTING AND CELLPHONES AND TIME

Now re-read that... I don't know if it is true or not, and I can't remember where I heard it but it blows my mind.

You meet a woman on Tinder, switch numbers, meetup for a date, maybe go on a second and third date, and by date three we have already wrote 1000+ texts back and forth of playful banter and so on... thats a couple of weeks in... now fast forward a year and everyday you are exchanging a few hundred texts and then talked or facetimrd and then see each other after work.



So... YES GIVE THEM SPACE.

If you plan on being long term, someday you will live together and spend most of your time together. You need alone time when you need it, don't make it awkward for the other person to want to do something without you... if you need to be around them all the time they are free that's controlling and that is NOT healthy...

In a relationship it’s good to establish a schedule and you don’t need to be around each other 24/7 and texting every hour. Giving space is just agreeing to certain times we are on our own whether that’s working hours or having a night out with the guys. It’s not a good look if she is always wanting to be around me every free minute but also not good if we only see each other once a week.

If you give it to him once he will take advantage of it and ask for it every once in awhile. If you keep giving it eventually he will stop asking and just take it himself. Be careful, men take everything for granted.
As far as I'm concerned, unless there is a really, really, really good reason and the point of it (which is very rare), I ain't giving "space". It just means he's not into me, so better to break up.

I think it's absolute necessity. I personally see if more with guys, needing space, but some have claimed here that it's no more common with them than with some women. It's a personality trait. If that is the case, then I would say at least give men intermittent breaks where they are not required to talk. That can be more draining for them.

To a degree, too much space and I assume something is wrong. Ultimately I like physical connection and displays of affection, but I know not all guys are like me.

Everybody needs some space or the relationship gets smothering. To much and people start to wonder if they still like you being around.

I think everyone needs alone space from time to time but some people take longer than others so it really depends on their personality.
