Guys, if my friend starts touching me more- does it mean he is now interested in me romantically or is he just comfrotable?

I have looked everyone’s comments and most of them are spot on. If I do something like this with a girl, and I have in the past, it is flirting technique to get their attention and seem playful and funny. Guys know that women like men who can make you laugh so he is trying to see if you respond back. I also do this to girls I find very attractive. I don’t see it as a “get you into bed move”. He’s letting you see certain sides of him hoping you flirt back. I don’t know enough to say “he is in love” with you. Crush could be a word to use but I think you guys are too old for that. Let’s just say you hold a special place in his heart. To learn more, you’d probably have to have a long talk or some truth serum or maybe get him drunk.

Let's do the lady and the tramp noodle scene... It's playful sure but that's pretty bold and intimate. If I did that on a first date I could get myself slapped or rightfully so a strange look on a girls face.

I guess pausing the friendship for a while is not worth considering. But I'd seriously consider having some firm boundaries with him. He clearly still sounds confused. It is important that he finds his way in life and finds a girl that he wants to date leading up to a serious relationship. He clearly is at a place of immaturity and I hope that he finds the right girl to help him become more stable

-That he at first ignored you isn't really noteworthy to me. He might have been talking to someone else or doing something. Don't know for sure tho.
-That might be a funny playful joke, but I don't really know how the bond is between you two and how both of you feel about your relationship (Ment as the connection you share, not meant as girlfriend/boyfriend). This one is hard to pin down to something simple, so can't help you with this one. Might be playful, might be romantic.
-Staring can also have many meanings, so again can't really help you with this one.
-This might again be a playful joke, but just like the other one, might be more. I think that it's a bit too hard to say what's the deal since I don't know you two. Come to the Netherlands for a couple of weeks and I can help you out hahaha
-The following points sound more just playful to me. Again don't know but yeah
-The falling asleep doesn't add anything and the looking at your breast might be an accident. I don't mean to look at someone's chest, but sometimes my eyes just go there for a sec.

It does sounds rather strange and it might be true that he is hitting on you, or was just that day. I really can't tell from the info I have. I don't know you or him so have a hard time coming up with an answer. I do always try to find ways to debunk claims to see how well they stand on their own and see if it's maybe not true, that's why I went in against a couple things you said, but truly don't know what the real answer is.

Maybe you can ask him about his behavior and see how he reacts and what he says.

He may or may not have it in mind to be romantic with you but this shows that he definitely likes you even if he doesn’t intend to get in a romantic relationship with you yet.
But if things reach that point or if you show more interest or initiate it, he’ll definitely be interested
