As a girl, I can only give assumptions of what some men feel when they say 'I love you'. Or rather... what my fiance means.
Neither of us said those three words up to I think... 4.5 years into our relationship. He said it for the first time over the phone so I definitely asked why he'd waited so long- was it because he only started feeling it at that point, or some other reason?
He said he'd felt it much sooner in the relationship but that to him, those three words symbolize serious commitment. Serious as in like... marriage level or something. So he didn't say them till a phone conversation after we went to a friend's engagement party cause I guess that he saw me in his future in the long-term.
If I love him back then it means the world. My ex said it to me and I didn't feel quite there yet and did respond with 'awww' lol. About a month later I realised I did love him and said It back. I just didn't want to say it when I wasn't 100% sure or maybe at that moment I felt uncomfortable with it because I wasn't around a very affectionate praising family.

Honestly I freeze
I back up
I look for the nearest exitI'm not afraid of commitment I'm just used to being burnt unfortunately I've had too many bad experiences which revolve around that they phrase of I love you I rather be shown love I rather go by the prove it than say itI don't do well with those three letter wordsTakes me a long time to warm up to themIt takes me even a longer time to say themBut I can say is when you finally do hear it from me you will know that they are sincere
Its meaning is love. It would make me feel loved and happy. A few days ago we were talking to a friend of mine. I said that;I love you. Plus I love to love you. Also I even love to say I Love You to you. Consequently I can't know what to love in you. My heart is undecided...😌
" I love you " are just three words that anyone can say, but just a few people means it and shows it through action. I'm looking for love through actions of people. And " I love you " doesn't mean the person already respects you and isn't always meant in a romantic way. It can be used by friends or even strangers.
To me, i find it so weird. I don't know why. Even them saying that they like me makes me feel weird. It's probably just me.
It does not mean much unless it came with actions to prove it! Also it would only mean something if i accepted his love and loved him back.
Nothing without real, meaningful actions to back it up or something...
Just that he loves me. I don't automatically think of it as a romantic way. I've had many guys say they love me, but we are all just friends. Real friends will say that.
When I was 18 it meant he wanted to get into my pants. Probably not much has changed since then.
I don't believe much men say any more. some say one thing and do another. it's hard to understand them..
If it's sincere, it's absolutely wonderful !!!
