Is it better to workout everyday or once every other day?

I’m trying to gain muscle so I want to know how many times I should lift.

  • I personally alternate 3 days of cardio and 3 days of strength training every week. The cardio helps keep my fat in check. If you don't want a cardio regime, then you may want to alternate different muscle groups on different days. I would not, however, recommend consistently working the same groups daily since muscles need rest to relax and grow.

  • For muscle you should work the muscle group about every 3rd day. You can work out every day, just don't work out the same muscles every day. Also try to take at least one day for light cardio a week without weights for recovery.

  • As a sportsperson for 10 years, from my experience is it depends on your intensity and how frequently you do it, if you do heavy workout twice a day then you can take one day rest but if you do normal workout twice a day you can do it daily
