Needed surgery on my aging shoulder. Not an "injury" per se, just getting old.
2 years ago I was pushing one of those mini grocery carts out to my car. It was filled with water bottles. It hit a raised area in the cement. One plate of the concrete was higher than the other one. The grocery cart flipped forward. The back wheels hit me between the legs. I did what guys do and went into a crouched position.I remember a man stopping with his pick up truck and helping me put groceries back into the cart. I pushed my cart over to my car and started crying a bit. It wasn't so much the pain because I have a pretty high threshold for pain but I was upset that it happened. I couldn't tell if I was really hurt but I thought I should call the manager out. I was talking to a couple who had come out near me about the accident when I noticed a lot of blood on my pants. Then I got worried. I started to head out for my car when the manager came out to talk to me. I tried to tell him fast because by that time I was bleeding quite a bit. I finally told him I needed to get to the hospital. He ended up taking me to the hospital. They did xrays and luckily no broken bones but they had to shoot me up with painkillers and stitch me where no woman should ever be stitched. I kept telling the female doctor and nurse while the doctor was stitching that I think I'm being a big baby. They both told me no you are not. The really scary thing is that I came close to losing the important organ.
I meant the ambulance was called and took me to the hospital
It's split between three things:1. I fell over on an already messed-up wound again while riding on my bike. Ripped the scab (I called it the mountain of blood, because it was huge; almost covered my entire elbow) right off, and asphalt tore into it worse. Still got the scar, and I was 9 when it happened.2. Part of my middle finger nail got ripped off in another bike accident (the first one that also caused the mountain of blood actually). I could see inside it and it hurt. Bad. Took months for my nail to grow back normally.3. Working at my job at a supermarket as a glorified janitor/bagger, I was told to clean up a spill where someone dropped a glass bottle of wine. Nobody taught me how to clean glass, so I was using some paper towels to sweep it up from underneath the shelves of wine. It got caught on something, and ripped right though the paper towels and right into my finger. Split it open deep. Would've needed stitches if it wasn't for the in-building clinic patching me up quick.
A few years a go I was in a moter accident. My mom was driving on the highway, and a truck ran a stop sign and T-boned our jeep. We got rammed by a ram. I was sitting right where the truck hit, so I was the only one seriously hurt.I was concussed. I got cuts all over my face from broken glass, some of which I had to get stitches for and left minor scarring. Nothing broke, but knee retained large amounts of soft tissue damage. I couldn't walk on it for several months. The funny thing is that because of the concussion I can barely remember it. In fact I can barely remember anything before the age of 13, and what I do remember feels like a dream. It's like the memories I do have don't belong to me.
I was little, we were grilling outside, and I wanted to take all the pillows on the other chairs for myself, on my seat. So I was carrying these big pillows and shit and well I tripped. And I fell on the grill, it was just a little one if you know what I mean, and it was on the ground so yeah I burned my knees and it hurt soo bad and I was crying and my parents were trying to wash my knees in the sink lol, and that hurt soo much as well, it made it worse then they took me to the bathtub and tried to wash my knees, I don't know why, probably cold water to cool it down, since I fucking burned my knees. And I was still crying oh my, I feel so sorry for myself thinking about it now, I was crying so loud😂😭😂
I dont know if this can count as a worst injury but like 8 years ago during soem aerobics classes I was doing soem mvement with my arm and my rotator shoulder thing and I hyper extended my arm but I di dnto break it thank God but for me it eem like I jsut a simple arm sprained but it was a bit more erious than I thought I did torn some tiny ligaments on my shoulder that a few ays later i could not even lift my arm to a certain height in front of above me, So the orthopedist told me if I di dnto have physical therapy ASAP i would have to have surgery and I did not want surgery at any cost. So I only had several physical therapy sessions until my arm was light again as a feather and I could move my arm again without any pain I never need to wear a sling either during this sprain ligament.Well this is not considered an injury but I burn my hand the upper part of it when I was like 23 years old
When I was about 4 years old, my dad took my brother and I to visit my great grandmother. She lived up this steep and gravel like hill. We were getting ready to leave and I was climbing up into my dad's truck. He wasn't watching nor helping me, so I slipped and hit my mouth on some sharp rocks. I started screaming and crying, as my gums began to swell and we realized I had knocked my two front (permanent teeth into my gums)!!! That was 22 years ago, and now I have nearly perfectly straight teeth and never needed braces. My teeth came back down on their own. 😊
Probably when I fractured my hip when I was 13/14 years old. Which is saying something since in the span of a few of years I broke my collarbone playing football, had a complete tear of my MCL in my left knee from football, fractured my right hip from baseball, busted my lip open when a baseball hit my square in the face after it ricocheted off of a persons glove 2 feet in front of me and needed 8 stitches, dislocated my fingers in baseball (just google image that)... All between the ages of 12-14.
Not really an injury but very painful. I was getting dressed for ice hockey and put the cup (hard thing that protects the groin) a little bit off. It was bad luck day for me because someone shot the puck which flew directly at my groin. I fell and couldn't get up for over 5 minutes. I was dragged to the bench and just sat there for the rest of the game. Everything functions though 😉
I jumped off a fence trying to grab and get onto a rope swing my brother was throwing at me. I had done this 100 times before but for some reason I lost my balance since the fence can rock/wobble a bit at times and ended up falling 6 ft and landing on my back on the sharp edge of the cement base of the fence. I was in so much pain that I wasn't just crying, I was screaming. I blacked out for some reason but I remember waking up from pain when the paramedics when moving me onto a stretcher to go to the hospital. I injured some of the nerves in my back or something because for 2/3 weeks afterward I couldnt even raise my eyebrows or open my mouth to wide because the nerves that connected from my head to the lower part of my back where damaged. Thankfully I don't take stupid risks as much anymore.
This horse I was training got spooked and took off while I was getting on. I held on for a couple seconds and then he turned hard and I landed back first on a wooden fence. One whole side of my back was scraped down to the tissue under the skin, like road rash, and my rib cage was jarred out of place. The skin healed after a few weeks but it took years of constantly getting my rib cage adjusted for it to stay in place more consistently. It still goes out from time to time though if I move the wrong way though
Stepping on a lego and temporarily seeing a white light...https://i.gifer.com/76fm.gifBut honestly I only broke a pinky toe, once when chasing my doggo and he juked me and I hit the bathroom wall corner 😔.
I opened a door really hard into my head. Pretty sure I have myself a concussion, not 100% sure though, I felt reallyyy odd for about a month afterward though.Oh, I also got bit by a mosquito and it went into a bad infection where the doctor said I could've lost my foot had I come in a day later if that counts as an injury.
Got hit in the head with a chair in a bar fight, I got concussed, and when I was on the floor, I was getting stomped on. So I had a separated shoulder (Idk how this happened) badly bruised ribs. It sucked, my whole face hurt, my body hurt, my head hurt, and it effected my cognitive ability.
Emotionally: Losing my best friend and surrogate little sister!Physically, as in the most damage and the most pain: being a victim in a hit & run that fractured my leg and ripped a huge chunk of skin (almost to the bone) in my elbow.Physically, as in, the one that lasted the longest: Tearing my bicep 3 years ago! It's still not healed!Physically, as in the biggest pain in the ass: My sisters fucking me over for money for the past 3 years!!
I was 13 playing JV basketball when I blew my ACL out. I was trying to cut around the defender and get into the paint when I felt something pop. I fell down and I was in so much pain. When I went to the hospital, I found out I blew out my ACL and needed surgery. That 9 months was so hard because I couldn't do much while I was recovering and had to work so hard to come back from the injury and get back to playing basketball. I now wear a knee brace when I play to try to support the knee.
You had almost the exact same situation as I did.
When I was a kid I ran up a slide slipped off and bit my tongue when I hit the ground with my chin. My teeth went completely through in the middle it hurt so much and my T-shirt was soaked in blood by the time I got home. I had the scar for so long but recently it started to disappear I almost miss it now because it has become a part of me.
Collarbone fracture when I was at a mountain bike race. I was 17 at the time. That was the end of the season for me - and thanks to another event the end of mountain bike racing for me.It was a wicked off camber track with a dropoff on the outside. I took it a little too aggressive and my back wheel slid out.
Took 37 grams of caffeine, my heart stopped in hospital for 15 min, 24 hour spent with breathing machine (must be the worst thing ever, i was awake but literally couldn't breath because machine was doing it for me and it feels like you are drowning but also breath going in your lungs..) + 1 week spent in intensive care. Now its been 1 month since left hospital.
Why did you have so much caffeine?
I knew it was way above the deadly dosage so..
Rotated thallus, torn and extended ligaments and tendons in my ankle. No broken bones. I was running in a 3 mile cross country race. Sprinting on the downhill in 1st place. My foot got stuck in a gopher hole at around the 1 mile marker. I finished the race in 7th place. Went to the doctor right after.
When I had testicular torsion, and pain in my left lower back that had an unknown cause, it was the worst pain imaginable, by far the worst I've ever experienced in my entire life. The cause for it remains unknown, but it required immediate surgery and it made me unable to work for a month and a half.
Having knee surgery and hernia surgery all in the same year. 2918These picture's were taken before both surgery. Back in April 21 and December 12 of 2018.
1x Broken leg (when I was 2), jumping off a bail of hey (that's what my parents told me)1x Broken arm (when I was round 6 or 7), falling off a bicycle 1x Broken arm (around 7 or 8), ?1x Broken arm (around 10), falling off a bicycle 1x Feinting on a hike (2017-12-16), Dehydration + heat stroke. I got a free helicopter ride with a paramedic.
... I felt a bit weak, so I sat on a rock. I told the tour guide (where I was the only member of the tour) that I'm not well. I then fell asleep. I had a very very vivid dream. I was in a physically safe position from falling. I came around, and it felt like I was tumbling backwards. I lay down for half-hour. My body did not accept any food or water (it came out the same way it went in). Guide got worried and cellphoned for assistance. Terrain was too rough for a 4x4; it would take too long to get a horse in to get me. They called for a helicopter, and on a telephonic diagnosis they decided to get me. The helicopter was 1 hour away. I lay on the ground, trying to recover. After 4 hours, I was very weak. I could barely stand. I was listening out for the helicopter but it caught me by surprise. I met the paramedic on my feet. I had very low blood pressure and was not confident on hiking out. I chucked as the pilot and paramedic took some photographs of bushmen paintings. The helicopter took me to the nearest airfield. They decided I was not serious enough to go to hospital. There, I was transferred to a sedan (Subaru Forester) owned by the local quasi-paramedic. They took me to my accomodation (who is their subscriber). The bill was covered by the park's insurance, which I paid the entrance fee for through the guide.
In 2014 I had completely severed my Anterior Cruciate Ligament. I recieved surgery at a walk in clinic after a couple x rays and an MRI scan, but my surgeon had told me that regardless of whether or not I had reconstructive surgery, this would most likely lead to leg problems later in life.
I burned my hand touching the bottom of the dishwasher, specifically the metal frame or chastity, while everything was still hot. I was trying to get a spoon that fell, but managed to also touch the hot metal.
Busted cut on my left temple. Had to get over 9 stitches. Ironically the needles hurt more than the actual injury. Also maybe being pushed threw a 2nd story glass window. That wasn't fun. I was bleeding just about everywhere. Including legs and arms cause the broken shards of glass cut there too.
Date raped at 14yo by 5 guys... i was hurt bad..and Broken collarbone on both sides at 14.5 yo.. that hurt all the time and I had my arms in casts for over 8 weeks... can't go pee by yourself, can't eat, can shower or much of anything by yourself.
As a kid I would climb in the doors with both hands on sides and swing jump from the top.I lost control while swinging , whole body weight came on two fingers and I went 6feet downwards face first , Nobody was at home , I remember watching my skull in the mirror just after the fall. That's how I got 7 stitches on my forehead
I twisted my ankle playing soccer in the park with my family. It didn't swell up until later that evening, but it stayed swollen for several days. It still gets tender from time to time, and that was 4 years ago
My brothers injured me twice. One of them broke my nose with a soccer ball when I was 8 had to have a surgery at the age of 19the second one another brother scratch my eye with his finger nail, Spent three nights going to the hospital getting stitches and covering my eye, I was about 10
A couple different times... dropped an engine-transmission on my hand on concrete and crushed it... as a passenger in a total wreck my scrotum and right testicle was cut... and not quite as bad a baseball bat to the chin requiring 30 stitches..
Tore my ACL at age 16. At least it wasn’t a broken bone, but it was really painful and still aches a decade later. What about you?
When I was 12 years old , during the football match when ı was a goalkeeper and in the last minute we will use free kick and I want to use it chance ( ı m a goalkeeper that be stupid.) and after this free kick when go back to my field fall down on the ground and my right hand broken :/
When I crashed my m3 on the Nürnburgring, I got out of it with a broken leg, broken arm, slightly broken hip, sprained ankle and some ribs being damaged. So nothing too mayor lmao
Car wreck. The airbag took a good chunk of skin off my arm and my fingers were bruised pretty bad. Not the worst pain I've been in though.
Still today, I have Epilepsy. I always fall backwords. Almost breaking my skull. Years ago, almost breaking my spine. Really. That's why I am scared to talk to women. They would not accept me.
Brain concussion, with some brain injury... Some animal pushed me from behind and I hit concrete floor with my head at full speed.I had to lay in hospital bed for 2 weeks and learn how to walk again after that.He got locked up for some time.
I accidentally gave myself blood poisoning by performing surgery on myself
Why were you performing surgery on yourself?
I had to remove some shrapnel that was still lodged in my leg but bothering me. I’ve done it before but I was in another country and didn’t have the proper and sterile tools but I was hoping to make good with what I had. Sadly, the area I was at was less than sanitary and it got infected.
Cracked 3 ribs, fractured arm, broken nose while ski racing, that was soooooooo much fun, oh and there was a black and blue across my chest from where I hit the ski gate
I had peaty much all my bones broke in a abusive childhood but for a single event either the time I was shot twice in the chest or when I hit a moose with my motorcycle
I sprained my ankle once raking leaves, I wasn't watching my footing so I let my right foot bend all the way to the right. It hurt so much I screamed and had to do crutches for a few weeks.
Never really had bad injuries, once sat on my hand and broke my finger.I mean people have accidentally injured me before, one time my friend full force hit me in the head with a hard plastic tennis racket and I broke a few bones in my skull.
About 20 years ago, I was in a head-on car crash (totally the other person's fault). My left eye socket was destroyed, 3 teeth knocked out, jaw broken in four places (still half numb), broken wrist, and broken leg.
Never actually had a serious one, but I do remember playing basketball in school when I was 12 on a concrete outdoor court, was shoved during a tackle and fell & skidded right on my eye 😫🤕🤕🤕🏀
Breaking my elbow as well as tearing tendons within my elbow, all because of a trampoline 😂
Broken finger from rugby, ripped ligaments from MMA, concussion from boxing, broken wrist from hockey.
Finding out my ex’s brother died 💔 that hurts like hell
Two broken wrists when I jumped out of a tree in school.
That's bad... Sorry to hear that
It's fine XD luckily that was long ago
Hmmm it would have to be a car accident but the most painful I've had was the stomach flu
I dislocated my shoulder after I was thrown really badly in Hapkido...
I broke my right ankle on a trampoline when I was about 8/9 and had to be rushed to hospital. Nearly had to get it operated on
When I cut myself to the bone and almost bled out, had to stay in hospital for 2 weeks and get transferred blood. Was unconscious for most of it though.
Was playing baseball in the backyard and I went to slide for some stupid reason and landed directly on top of my shoulder which made it dislocate it. Still have the bone showing more then it should
Well it was either a massive gash in my head or tearing a few ligaments all at the same time. That hurt like a bitch.
Fractured femur, and concussion, I was in a car accident.
Ankle got hurt during field hockey had pain a long time there lucky I recovered fully
A fat kid fell on me while I was picking my self up during a soccer game , he ended up breaking my arm Recent I got into a bar fight with one of my fellow MMA fighter and we both ended up with brusies and broken fingers
Lmaoaoaoaoa, wtf, men childhood is really from birth to the age of 40👀
My hand got caught in a conveyor belt. It scraped my skin off.
I jammed my finger playing basketball as a kid. My finger was in a cast for days
It's not really an injury... but I guess it's more interesting than falling off my bike trying to balance and dislocating my elbow, once I punched someone with a glass and I got the glass in my own hand too
