I appreciate your wanting to quit, however I feel like your reason for the same is going to pull you down. Unless it's something that you personally want, it's going to be a lot harder. Personally, a smoker is a huge turn-off for me. For the simple reason that I would like if my significant other didn't risk his/her health and well-being for something that doesn't help anyone. I understand addiction and how some people use cigars for stress relief but if I could I would love to help my partner find other ways to relax. Ways that won't negatively impact their well-being. For anyone, one of the worst fears we hold is that of any harm coming to the ones we love. I know for a fact that I would break if any of the people I care about met with some misfortune. So knowing that this person smokes and puts his/her life in jeopardy, I will, for my own emotional wellbeing, try not to get too close to said person.Regarding the subject of your question though, if you do someday feel like quitting, not for someone else but rather for yourself, there are quite a few alternatives that are apparently a lot safer and can help you give up on cigars. I don't know to what extent that is true though. If that doesn't work out, you could always consider getting professional help. If for some reason that option is not viable, I'd suggest you read up on something called classical conditioning. It's a method of learning. Basically, all behaviour is learnt and can also be unlearnt. It'sa fairly easy concept to understand but if you need some help figuring it out, I'd be happy to explain it to you to the best of my abilities.Good luck~
Well, consider what story i tell you. My maternal Grand-dad suffered smoking cancer related illnesses , he had his voice box removed anda hole permanently in his neck for him to breath through. He was operated on 1974 , got better survived 22 years afterwards than thecancer came back and it went into his prostate gland, lungs , he wasoperated and survived 1 month and 4 days he passed away. My lateMom suffered from the same type of cancer. Her brother ( my uncle)suffered from smoking cancer related illness and he lived a year afterhe was diagnosed , he was on chemotherapy and medications but itwas too late. I just stopped smoking cold turkey on August 2 2019.
Thank you for most helpful guy :)
While it's entirely your choice if you smoke or not, that's not the question you asked so I'll tackle that first. To quit you just need to find what's addictive and ease off of it, while slowly finding ways to cope.Personally I have found a particular brand of video games distracts me from anything like that, but I've never had a strong addiction either since I've never smoked, done drugs or even had alcohol in my life.Find what works for you.As far as whether or not you should quit, that's up to you. There's no law against it and anyone that tells you that you need to quit is overstepping their bounds.
I know a chain smoker who stopped smoking after consulting a psychiatrist. He was put on nicotine replacement therapy to prevent withdrawal symptoms. Also, the most important thing is the will power and a positive attitude that you can actually get rid of it. All the best! 🙂
You just have to quit. I'm not trying to oversimplify it, but it's the truth. It takes self discipline. You have to make up your mind and do it. There is no way around that. You hear about tricks that help people. But 95% of it is self discipline. You have two options. Either you quit, or you smoke the rest of your life. Which one do you want? Think hard on that question.
Why would this partner not want you to smoke cigars? He needs to improve his taste; I think female smokers are sexy. My advice: don’t quit 😩🚬
I think so)))!
Cancer is so sexy
@Nayrr In the case of smoking, at least you die looking good 😎
You already took first step. Now you need to have will power and suggest you go through detoxing. It takes weeks and heared to be difficult.I wish you all the best.
You just stop doing it because you want to.Thats literally the whole thing, it isn't more complicated than that.
They have patches. but grab a hobby something using hands of course when u want a cig
A lot of ways, I just quit. Some use sprays patches even chewing gum. But some use vaping but that seems to be more of a substitute not a way to quit...
Jus STOP easy, I have done it twice, was heavy smoker, decided to quit. Had some in my pocket so I could control the craving. Both times it has worked for me.
I quit at 23 after about 10 years of smoking.(I know). I did it flat out with no bullshit one day and never looked back. It just takes a spurt of concentrated will anything else will probably fail.
Stopping will be difficult but I don't recommend just stopping straight away you should just try and ease yourself off it. But I'm only 14 so take what I say lightly.
You can try nicotine patches, gum or get a prescription for chantix.
Find something healthier you like better than cigars, like sex?
