Do you really HAVE to be very lean?

I see one thing that the fitness industry is always promoting, a low body fat percentage. The lower the better.

15% body fat. 13%. As low as 5%. It's like a crusade against body fat, don't have it at all!

Is this becoming another unattainable standard? I'm noticing that coming across a lot of fitness content is slowly making me very self conscious about my own body fat percentage which is far from being that lean.

Is there really anything wrong with being in the 20%-30% range for the average Jane who is not a professional athlete? I understand having a certain requirement to be a professional in certain athletic or modelling fields... But otherwise?
