How do I stop eating snacks at night?

So I've been trying to cut back on what I eat, in an effort to lose weight. I've been eating more yogurt, during lunch at work I've cut out the bacon and mayo on my burger (and fries on ocassion), and i drink less soda. I also decided that I should start working out at least 2 days a week, nothing too intense but a good run on the treadmill and some weight lifting.
Though I've noted that at night I tend to eat snacks from the vending machine in my building, which I think is gonna stop my progress.
What is a good snack substitute or a way to cut out the snacks? I've tried more yogurt but it doesn't feel "filling" and I don't really like the grapes I bought.
