Both. I don't last very long and I don't get very far.
stamina and speed you need 2 different types of exercise.for stamina it's very important to jog at a slow pace. it's not about how far you get but time you last. So i would suggest figuring out how long you can last.Ex: say you last 15 minutes today tomorrow push yourself for 16 minutes. again slow pace works better because you last longer. it's about how long your lungs are working hard not how hard they work. Also you want to keep your form. If you keep form you will last longer. smooth straight forward motion and relaxed muscles as much as possible. breath in with your nose and blow out with your mouth.Speed. Very important to stretch a lot. you want stretching that helps makes you flexible.Strength 2 things legs and your core. these are where your power comes from for speed.Again the form is important. high leg kicks for long strides it is important to get the most out of your size as possible. Also a smooth stride (means if I was to put a rope a half inch taller than you. you won't bounce. your head will never touch the rope.Changing speeds when running helps speed as well. (means sprint the straights and walk the curves on the track) I do that for an hr every morning.i did a mytake on my off-season workout to keep in shape do as many of those exercises as possible all of them are to build speed. i will include it for you.
