Can eating the same thing you're allergic too make it disappear?

Anonymous
This is what happened to me but I'm not sure how true is that.

Shellfish used to provoke facial rashes, swollen lips, stomachaches (sometimes diarrhea) and a scratchy throat within hours. One day I decided to eat it again after recovering. Then 5-6 months later, all the sudden stopped producing those reactions. I just had shellfish 4 days ago and nothing. Can that happen? Eating what you're allergic to so often that it does nothing anymore?

I basically ate it again and again repeatedly and nothing happens anymore.
