I was listening to loud music earlier (and I do have a habit of doing that occasionally) but I just read on Google that loud music can cause temporary tinnitus so I feel much better knowing that. Hopefully this will scare me into not putting my music on loudly.
Yeah that's a common cause of it. It's usually experienced after going to a concert, a nightclub or playing music too loud with headphones on. Over time this can lead to noise-induced hearing loss. Every time you get that ringing in your ears, you've caused some damage and it'll add up over time. So yes, try to be more careful in future.
