How important is it to you/your partner to make staying healthy, but not gaining too much weight during pregnancy?

Many in my family, even ones who were as into fitness and health as I am now, found themselves unable to lose their pregnancy pounds afterwards, and most ended up bigger and lost their motivation to make fitness a priority, so I have made an effort to keep up my routine as much as I can (as much as is safe, of course), but I also worry if focusing on not gaining too much weight (still gaining what I need!) will just ultimately stress me out.
