Do you have any advice on emotional regulation?

This is clearly personal, but I need to get better.
I frequently snap, speak sarcastically, or otherwise behave irritably if I happen to be in a bad or grumpy mood. This negatively affects the people around me and is clearly inappropriate. When I do this, it's very impulsive and I always regret it, but I don't know how to think ahead and regulate my emotions.
Do you have any advice on emotional regulation?
