Why does my body react so badly to stress these days?

When I was in my last semester of university - I gained over 20 pounds in 3 months from being stressed out over grades cause to get into the grad school of my choice - I would need perfect A's in every class and could not have even one A- and a lot of my grade was determined by things I could not control such as my ability to write down stuff fast enough to recall information or the TA's racial and cultural bias towards Chinese people etc...

Last night I stayed up late trying to solve my career issues and trying to come up with a solution - today my hair is falling out so bad - almost as much as a cancer patient on chemo therapy - I know stress can make your hair fall out but the amount of hair that is falling out is ridiculous

Why do I get such crazy physical symptoms when i'm stressed out?
