My body was at its best 2015 and the years before. I've gained like 70 pounds since then

I've been eating Greek vanilla yogurt and fruit in the morning, for lunch I have guacamole and chips, and for dinner I've been eating either a salad or a very portioned normal dinner. I am trying to cut down on bread and Sugar but I have been drinking Arizona iced tea. Should I stop the Arizona iced tea?
I've been doing yo-yo diets and fad diets and they work but I gain it back so this time I figured I'll just eat healthy 95% of the time and train my metabolism again. I figured it'll be slow but eventually the weight should come off.
I gained two pounds yesterday. I don't understand. But im going to start working out harder.
@Livelearnletgo Okay let's start with an easy one: the tea. I had to look up the nutrition label: it has 17 grams of sugar in one serving! That is a lot of sugar. It's not bad, but I'd drink it in moderation. Also guac! It is good fat, but you have to be careful eating too much of it or you'll STILL gain weight.I would also recommend eating more protein, like: chicken, beef, turkey meat, seafood, and fish. It will fill you up and most of it is low fat, low carb. Also, don't stress over the number on the scale. I know, that's hard not to do. Focus more on moving more- which by the way, are you exercising at all? That will help as well~
I just started birth control and I've been extremely and utterly fatigued. I went on the treadmill for 30 mins yesterday before my appointment. Today I am going to run on the treadmill for ten mins and walk for 50 mins. Also going to lift my 10 lb weight and squat and do abs and push ups. I'm not going to weigh myself anymore.
I didn't think the tea would be too bad since I'm also drinking water and in comparison to soda, it is the lesser of two evils. But I'm going to just drink milk and water from now on.
I really appreciate the advice! 😊
I have always gone by the mantra if eat what you like but in moderation, so long as you are burning off what you are eating on a daily basis. So a diary helps too.😘
You are the second person to suggest keeping a food diary or journal... something I am definetly going go start doingMy sister bought herself a fitbit which might be a good option to keep track of how many calories I am burning...
Or if you have a smartphone, there are apps available. I was using an Apple watch but have since moved to android.
Did you like your apple watch?
It is ok, however I don't use it anymore really
that's one of the reasons I haven't bought one... the high price and will I use it enough
If you use an iPhone, then it will be more beneficial because you pair the 2 up and can access functions like messages, email, call people etcNot sure if there is a way to use an android with apple watch...
That was a bit harsh Chelsea!
Yes it was and I'm sorry. 😥
I don't think you are, fucking breaks my heart!
Is there anything I can do to show you I'm really sorry?
I understand if the answer is no
Like literally go the healthy route. Don't do the get quick scheme. It'll all come back. Trust me. You just need to eat once you wake up and exercise twice a day. Don't eat past certain hours. You'll be good. It takes longer but it's better results.
Yes!!! I forsure agree! The quick diets and fasting type of stuff makes you lose it and then you gain everything back and more. I have known people who did that and my boyfriend wanted to do it so he could get slimmer for soccer and I kept telling him not to or it will all come back. A regular healthy diet and smaller portion sizes work the best because they are permanently stable and you never have to go back to something else, and working out with it can help you drop weight even faster
@itsjustlew yeah, so far I don't feel like I am starving. I have cheated a few times but I'm not going overboard. I've been drinking water. Just need to really cut back on sugar and bread.
I did try changing my diet and managed to lose a little bit of weight but that quite a while ago since then I have plateaued and haven't lost any more weight
Then you need to change it again.
I've tried working out at home but I really miss going to the gym
Yes it is. It is hard to lose weight just by exercising if you don't also get proper nutrition.
I used to have the same problem. I would start and do good and lose weight but then I would stop. It's really hard to get into a good habit of eating properly and maintaining a good exercise routine. Once you get into the habit you will really start to see results and fe el healthier
It is really hard! I am tired of being overweight, tired and having high blood pressure
Just take it one day at a time. And maybe try to stop looking for results. Instead make your goal just trying to be healthier. Then there's less pressure on you and eventually you will start to notice a change.
diets don't work!
There are a lot of different types of diets (no carbs, low carbs etc.) How do know which is the best one? Do any of them really work? Are they sustainable?
