I've tried, but pretending the event didn't happen makes me feel like am being dishonest with myself.
Moving forward with your life isn’t pretending that the past happened. It’s acknowledged that what happened is in the past and no longer exists in the present moment, so you move on with your life because the only thing that matters is the present moment.
If you let your past affect your present then you’re not going to have a positive future.
