Well said.I had a very active childhood as well. Not only was there no internet, but only a few fuzzy channels on the TV as well.I remember always riding around town on my bike.I remember playing ball with any kids that were around.I remember the smell of people barbecuing and the sounds.I just remember summer breaks, leaving the house in the morning, playing basketballl day and getting in trouble because it was dark when I got home. Now, my son is addicted to the internet.Tomorrow I will try to go bike riding with him and play basketball.I hope he's up for it.
"Tomorrow I will try to go bike riding with him and play basketball.I hope he's up for it. "There will be a day when you are the one trying to keep up. :)Some of the neighbor parents are pretty good about keeping their kids off the Internet and games. I know parents who don't allow games at all during the week, and only a couple hours on weekends. They only allow Internet during the week if it's school related. But I still don't see the kids. That's what I don't get. Where the heck are they?
They seem addicted though.I really have to force my son to go outside with me and play frisby. He does all his schooling online now and it just makes me sad sometimes.I just had a totally different childhood.
How old is your son?
He's 13.He's either doing his online schooling, texting or gaming until 2 am.I can't always be there to keep him busy because I coparent.Sometimes I really miss him and when he stays with me it's like he goes through withdrawals from the internet. He's tired and frustrated.I just want to shoot hoops with him.Oh well, I do the best I can, I'll see him tomorrow again.
I know what you mean, I worry about it too.I'm also scared of the vaccine. So that's nice.😅Do you have any kids? How are they handling everything?
I got 2. They both hate it, and they miss their friends, and not being able to do much out without a mask put on, they both find it annoying. They are bored out of their minds, and they are on their Edwin computers or iPad, or tablets, phones, and watching so much TV that they are bored with it all. They have somewhat gotten depressed bc not much activities are done like my son is into hockey, and my daughter is into music... but they can't do that so much bc of social distancy. Its been quite hard on both of them. 12 and 15 years old on my kids.
Wow, that does sound rough. My son is 13 and doing his schooling online.I don't know if that kind of isolation from his friends is going to be healthy in the long-term.I worry about him.I'm going to take him to play basketball tomorrow and hopefully get lots of exercise this weekend.I feel like I have a responsibility to do things with him and try to have some kind of normal childhood. It's nice that your daughter is into music. My son and I play guitar and my niece plays a ukulele. What instruments can your daughter play?
guitar, piano, drums, and songs too.
Cool.Music a nice hobby and it's good for your memory. It nice to cross paths with a fellow Canadian on gag.Are you in the West or East if you don't mind me asking?I'm in Alberta.
