How do you deal with depression?

I usually get really, really down at nighttime, and can't seem to get my heart or mind to calm down enough to sleep peacefully. I usually stay up all night because of my anxiety and depression. I've tried meditations, breathing exercises, and the like but nothing seems to work.

I'm also struggling with my mental state being so down all the time. I don't know if anyone can relate--and I feel dramatic saying this, but it's the truth--my thoughts every moment of the day are always depressing and sad thoughts. I can't seem to get out of them.

I recently found out I have PTSD and have been going to a support group for it, but it really only helps during our sessions, and then afterward I'm back to being sad all the time.

Does anyone have any coping mechanisms or advice?
