Are muscles supposed to feel this hard?

I started exercising 2 months ago.
I’ve Only seen small little changes.
Earlier, I was gripping my bicep, & it felt super hard?
Like Rock hard.. pause

I thought it was a tumor or something
My bicep has never been this hard before?
My arms have always been squishy..

My bicep hasn’t grown much, it’s just solid

Is this normal?
Does it mean I’m making progress?
& Are muscles supposed to be hard?
Yes they should feel hard
