Girls, my friend asked me to go to her first ob/gyn exam with her. She’s nervous but I’ve never been either. Will I be allowed in exam room with her?

It depends on the drs office rn. Rn they may or may not let them have visitors. Its nothing major if she's getting an exam. 1 person comes in. She tells you to take all your clothes off and put this paper vest on with the front open. Then to sit on this pad on the table and cover yourself with a paper blanket. Then you lay back and open your legs. (The dr) Shell insert a speculum into your vagina its a thing that spreads it open so she can have a look in there do a swab which might hurt a tiny bit (does this to ave it sent to the lab and check for abnormalities) and it does feel weird. Then she'll take it out. then shell put 2 fingers in there and push up and push with other hand on your abdomen to see if there's any pain and to see if your uterus is swollen. Then she pulls her fingers out and is done with the bottom half. And as for the boobs she has you raise your hands above your head and feels the tissue to feel for any lumps and thats it (she's feeling for cancer). Usually your really cold during an exam. I always am and I said it backwards they go from top to bottom boobs than vag.

Not sure since I haven’t gone yet either. It might depend on your ages and if parents are there? Please let me know what happens, I will prob go soon and a friend there might help. Eeeeik

You might not be allowed in due to Covid restrictions. You might want to call and see first and also check if they allow minors who aren't parents or guardians in the room with a patient.

I dont think they would allow people other than family in there but maybe if your friends parents are also there they may let you come , not confident tho
