- I broke my back in the military. I was so awesome and fit. I went from"hero to zero" "stud to spud" in just a few seconds. Of course I was depressed and short tempered for a while. I was never abusive, just down, and it was never an excuse to be in a bad mood.
The military doctors started me on zoloft and wellbutrin. Like an idiot I trusted them. Then I read up on the medication myself and read the association to suicidal thoughts in some recipients. And the number of veteran suicides was making headlines as well.
I threw my pills away (I have a septic system) and told the doctors I won't take them again.
Effectiveness? After a month, until I read that article, I felt no difference. None. That's just me, I'm just one person, it might work for some people. The difference I did feel was after I threw the pills away that I changed my mind about what physical abilities I'd lost and appreciated what I still had and what I could still do and accomplish.
Changing my attitude to one of appreciation and hope and not depending on a drug to do it for me... that is what healed my mind.
Then I found this a few years later and was convinced that I did the right thing for me:https://www.youtube.com/embed/2glUblzp2rAEven the Bible mentions this.
This guy was the Chief of genetic studies at Stanford for years. Smart dude.
If the zoloft helps you, fine. That shit scares me though.
I hope you find what you need and are satisfied with the results.
