Can you lose weight by eating 3 large meals but no junk food? Like cabbage soup dinners or chicken salad lunches?

Most people are able to get away with larger quantities of cleaner Whole Foods, yes. Eating clean helps your metabolism. I wouldn’t say you should over eat though, because even with Whole Foods you can put in weight. It’s all going to depend on your body, age, hormones, work out routine, and diet though.

Yes but food is only half of it. Work out too. Eat healthy snacks.

3 large meals is never a good idea... NEVER. Your body needs waayyyyy less food volume than you think, but what it DOES need are nutrients. Most Americans eat backwards. Eat like a Queen at breakfast, a Princess at lunch, and a peasant at dinner if you must stick to 3 meals. If not, a combination of a good breakfast and 4 snacks throughout the day, of high nutrient, low calorie foods, will do the trick. Stay as active as you can, and exercise at least 30 minutes three to four times a week, or every other day.
It is simple to put that type of food in your mouth, but you would need to keep up that activity day after day that leads quickly to behavioral patterns from craving certain foods. Your body knows what it wants, but getting it into your system in a healthy way is the trick.

If you want to lose weight, you have to burn off more calories than you consume, regardless of where they come from and if one isn't exercising anyway, they need to consume less calories than they already are.

Sure if you’re active. Loosing weight is a simple concept - burn more than you consume

Best way is longterm behavioral changes. Cabbage soup won’t be long term. Don’t stray from basic facts: less calories, less weight gain.
depends on how big is large but i think it could work if you add doing physical stuff like running

Depends what those large meals are. The important thing is that you aren't taking in a lot of calories. If you're taking in more calories than you burn, you will gain weight.

Only if you exercise; one must run a slight calorie deficit in order to lose weight.
