i get where you're coming from, spending the holidays alone sucks! but it is ultimately up to him, he may think its awkward for his ex to come to his family's celebration. and there's a pandemic going on too. if you really want to try and get invited, ask him casually what he's doing for Christmas, and see if he'll invite you
