Ever been disappointed with a Christmas gift?

For me it's not so much either of those, so much as the people in my life don't understand me. So they don't give me good gifts. Like this year my dad bought us all smart watches, he thought I'd really love it and be super excited about it. But I hate smart watches, I don't need a watch to tell me when I have a call or text or does any of that other junk when I have a cell phone that does all that for me that I keep within arm's length literally at all times. All I want my watch to do is tell me the time. My parents don't even try to understand me. Usually it doesn't bother me, but I pride myself on just how much effort and hard work I put into getting a good gift for someone. So to see this person, who I've known for my entire life, and who I agonize for days, weeks, months over exact perfect gift to get for that they will love. To realize that they won't even try to know me, it's disappointing, it hurts.

Lol, one time my brother asked for a specific star wars lego thing that was cheap and being marketed everywhere. So logically, my grandparents got him some random lego bullshit instead and he instantly started crying on the spot as soon as he opened it.

It's okay though, we went to the store after and got the thing he actually wanted.

I guess for myself the same grandparents would get uncomfortable ugly clothes that I never wore. Kinda a pain pretending to happy for them.

I’ve definitely been disappointed with a few of my past Christmas gifts lol but I don’t remember what they were. I’m sure I had to fake smile and be like “oohhh cool!!! Wowwww~~”

Yeah, I got my period for Christmas, I am thirty three and I live alone so this is the only present I'm getting anyway, feel bad for me.

OMG YES! Extended family was over I was 12 and we each took s-l-o-w turns opening our gifts. I recived a package of "underoos" and was further humiliated by being asked to open them up to show them off followed by a chorus of try them on!
