I hear all about girls' standards for their future husbands, but what do guys look for in their future wives?

Religion and philosophical beliefs are kind of a big deal when it comes down to anything as serious as marriage. I also want to know how your beliefs were shaped as you grew up.
I guess a more specific question I would ask is, "If I were on my deathbed or in a coma, is this someone I would trust to make life-and-death decisions for me?"
If I can't answer that question then I can't yet view you as "wife material"
Other than that, there aren't any specific qualities that matter. You could be the worst cook in the world, or you could be the best cook. You could be good with kids, or not have a clue how to deal with kids. You could be career-minded or prefer housekeeping.
I would however want a wife who has a certain level of flexibility, and is willing to adapt to different situations. For instance, she should be willing to put her career aside to raise a family if need be, but she should also be willing to work if extra income is needed. She should be serious about doing whatever it takes to make the marriage work. Attitude is more important than abilities.0
