Gift ideas for long distance boyfriend?

I want to send him a simple gift, it's not for a special occasion, but most ideas I find are more for girls... what are things that guys like to get as gifts? I know his interests, but I don't just want to get him something he would buy himself?

Assuming you've been together for long enough to have built up a decent stock of inside jokes and cute little references that no one else would understand except the two of you -- here's one cool idea:

• Find a book that's organized like a dictionary (= with lots of random entries, in some sort of order)

• Go through it

• Any time you find anything that brings to mind a conversation you've had, or anything you might laugh about together, or anything that reminds you of someone/something you both know... Write a little note on a slip of paper, and stick that note into the book in the appropriate place.

For instance, you could use something like this book:

Lots of cool randomness in there -- there's *tons* of little "conversation starters".
Each little slip of paper is like starting another cool conversation, even though you aren't in the same place at the same time.

You could also slip in a few things about yourself here and there that he doesn't know yet, or that might surprise him. "Oh by the way, THIS reminds me -- and I bet you didn't know -- that I ________"

Then send it off to him in the mail, with, what, 50 or 100 little slips of paper (and a few pictures of you two, too) tucked into random pages of the book.
