Would you be smart with it? I mean what can you really do with it rn aside from save? Maybe help others less fortunate and jobless rn? I saw a lot of apartments dropping rent like by $500. Thats hella good. I’m tempted but no way im moving cross country at a time like this. I’d def save up to start building my home. I really want a nice small piece of land to build a nice single story 3 bed, 2 bath home on. But just cause its small (less then 2200 sq ft) doesn't mean that it won't be elegant looking 😁 Its gonna cost anywhere from $280-350k to build. But the remaining money would go to upcoming bills, church, savings, and helping out a few fam/friends #FeelFreeToList#iHitTheLotto
If you were to win the lottery tomorrow during this #coronacrisis, what would your money (for ex. $1 million) go towards?

With a million dollars, I'd donate 10% to charity. Buy a simple "starter" home, take the rest, and put it in several accounts; Savings, IRA's, etc. Try to live off 40K a year. That alone would put me at LEAST into early 50's with a decent lifestyle, even if I didn't earn a cent extra, never have a dual income, (wife or girlfriend) etc. But 40K would let me take the occasional trip, or do some cool things, and I'd still find extra work. The tech is where I'd probably spend the most "extra" money. I wouldn't go for a fancy car, but I might get some extras on a decent one. Take some of that 40K and get a crew to help advertise and get me more work; as long as I was at LEAST earning back what I spent, I'd be ok. Take a lot of classes. Cooking classes, dance lessons, maybe; that kind of thing.
If I won I would actually put myself first for once. I would definitely pay off my car, buy me a house and set it up, payoff all my bills, and have some fun. I would help out the family who helped me out during my hardship. Finally I would donate to homeless shelters and food banks. These places are always busy and some are desperate by running out of money. If I won I would consider myself blessed and do what I could to help.
I would save it and get someone to invest it for me at least a big part of it. I know that you should make your money work for you but I'm not that interested in money and I have other shit to do with my time I don't spend a lot so I automatically save up money. But If I had this much I'd definitely invest a good chunk of it. But I wouldn't change much about my life.
I believe that life teaches you lessons and having money allows you to skip over those lessons if you want but only in the short term in the long term the things you didn't learn will always come back and hit you way harder than if you'd just learned them the first time.
So I'm not gonna do stupid shit and throw all my money out just because I can. The only people telling me what to do, are people that I want there to help me so I don't have a need to rebel against anyone. Even though I am pretty anti authoritarian there's a difference between not taking shit and just beeing a self sabotaging idiot.
So I'd just save my money up and later when I feel like I'm killing it in life I will definitely still find ways to spend money. But even if I didn't spend it my whole life I wouldn't be sad cause it's more important to me to reach my goals for myself as a person than how much money I have.
Right now my main goal is to get more in touch with my irrational side like emotions, passion, sexuality, all those things because I've gone as far as I can go as a overly rational person :D. I feel like there's so much I haven't experienced yet. So maybe if I succeed I'd blow the whole million in one weekend who knows? I wouldn't be sad about that either because it would mean I've found a new side of myself and did something I've never done before and that would be a success.
I would immeditaly go on Asos and sites like that and buy all the clothes, accessories and shoes that I want. I'd do the same for sephora, apple, lush and amazon. Then I'd order some room decorations and stuff like that from stores you haven't heard of if you don't live where I do. Then I'd order my own set of groceries online (alcohol mostly :p). I'd upgrade all my accounts to premium, I'd pledge patreons, send superchats to youtubers a lot, and use a lot online like that. And I'd buy anything I want instantly, which would be great!! When I'm done blowing my money like that (probs would have spent like 20 000 dollars worth of things so so much more :))) I'd book first class shit to go to my summer home like for July, and would order a shitton of furniture to makeover my room there. And I'd buy nice gifts for my family, family friends and mates for when I visit them (if summer holidays happen. It's normal where I am to gift people you haven't seen in a year) but yea basically that's it. when the corona is over, I'd rent an apt and move out.
Knowing me (let's be honest you wouldn't either) I wouldn't give any to charity really exept maybe a few hundred to causes I really really care about. I wouldn't give really any to family or mates, just keep it to myself. At least I'm being honest about it
1. Invest in the stockmarket. a lot of stocks have dropped heavily in crisis-times. If you know what to buy, now would be the time. 2. I'd also take the opporotunity to move to some place more central. 3. I have a long list of things that I need to buy just to improve the general quality of life, would be nice to start picking off some of those. Maybe even think about getting a new car that's both practical, economic and sort of environmental. And safe. 4. Save some away for bills, charity causes and emergency funds.
first thing for me to do would have the money spread out between my kids and all those i've known in my life who were there for me and my kids during the bad times, who chose to be not cos they were asked to be or more accurately not cos they thought they'd get anything out of it... and any debts i may have accumilated upto that point second, i would invest it in a block of flats for homeless people and have it self sufficient, so each of them would be sent on courses to be able to maintain it, also setting them up for careers so practical trades. thirdly i would put buy a nice cottage somewhere nothing too big but not too small, and a bit of land so can rescue dogs... fourth whatever is left goes most will go into savings, a 60's mustang and driving lessons
For me it'd go to ensuring my studies are successful and I don't encounter financial difficulties during them, and I'd love to travel and work abroad as an English language teacher and use the money to ensure some security in beginning my stay. After I finish this and go back to the field my degree allows me I'd use the money to allow for a residence near my work and to maybe work on a post grad degree. At this point I'd donate a portion of the money to a charity I cared about at the time, put a chunk as part of my retirement fund, and leave the rest to do with as I feel.
pay off my bills then I buy property in san franciso ca and in boca raton fl and in manhattan ny and rent them out and I invest several thousand in the stock market and several thousand in 30 year bonds and several thousand in international bonds and several thousand in cds and several thousand in etf's and mutual funds and then I purchase hotels in Orlando florida and in manhatten ny and near Disney in California. then I buy a private island and turn it into a getaway resort for couples. from there i'd donate some to various charities ie st jude's childrens cancer research hospital and neda and red cross and salvation army (fuck habitats for humanity they acted like jerkoffs when I tried donating to them a couple of times) and eventually I buy my own property and I buy a mansion for my fiancée as well. and i'd pay off whatever bills she has as well. and then i'd tell my family to go fuck themselves and give them the finger and same with my so called friends.
i would give 500,000 to country's with no food or clean water, no schools, no medical help and the rest would go to my education purpose. I've got enough money to live in shelter and eat everyday they don't so. they need this money more then i do. and i want to get as much education as possible. my dyslexia will not ruin my future.

I could think of a number of things I need to get started in my life but I could see most going to a charitable cause. My church is currently a small building that could use expansion and a remodel so I could see that helping there. But practically it's hard to know where money should be invested. I would think go fund me would have some good options
10% would go to my church the rest would go to getting me a customized gas powered golf g=cart to ride the roads on with an attached bb gun from drive by squirrel shootings when i see one or a paint ball gun depending on the sensitivity of the neighbors lol
Aside from the sensible possibilities of saving and investing, I'd definitely take a trip overseas, preferably Europe. I'd also probably invest in furthering my education. Although, a really cool house sounds awesome, too - one with a pool and all the great stuff. :)

I would buy education - either learn IT or writing or get an online PhD in psychology or mental health and use the winnings to cover my expenses. I would also run an online church ministry and pay for it with my money and I would set up a charity for people at my church who needed money for food and I would create movies encouraging children to be kind and respect their parents.
1 million after taxes? First I would buy a house, max value 400k. Then probably a newish car, max value of 15k. Then the rest would go into a savings account, where it could collect interest. I'd set up an automatic withdrawal of a couple grand a month into my debit account as if it was a salary, and I'd live off that for as long as it lasted.
I would open the old school in my local city for a homeless shelter, with a staff. I'd get my CCW, sell my moms house, pay off my grandma's, buy wherever my mom wants to live. Build her house, build my dads on the same property with a pool and hot tub. I'd buy 3 trikes, 4 four wheelers. Pay off my parents cars, buy a truck and car for myself. Pay off my student debt

Exactly what you would do except maybe just buy a home that’s already built and maybe change a few things to my liking , but like you said it’s not likely to happen now so you would need to save it until you can do it. I would travel but not for long time
No problem, we like a lot of the same things I’ve noticed in the past

House (s) Car Cut for every member of my family Tithes/charity work clothes, shoes and day to day stuff like hair nails etc. Cosmetic stuff (not plastic surgery I mean like dental etc.) And then I save the rest Cus this won’t take up the whole 1mil
I'd invest all of it an extremely safe, conservative stock portfolio, and just collect the yearly returns of 30,000 to 80,000 and add it to my salary. I'd still need a steady, salaried position, but I could afford to take one that paid less and required less hours.
Paying bills. Even I wanted to just splurge, wtf would I spend it on? Everything is closed. I can't go to Vegas and spend it all on strippers. Can't go to Italy and blow it all on hookers. Can't go to Japan and blow it all on Anime waifus. How would I squander it? Buying up random houses? That might actually make money.
I would by $1,000,000 in N95 masks and correct PPE gear (Personal protective equipment) for nurses, and doctors, and those who are fighting in the front lines and donate it to hospitals, and doctors offices that need it.
I don't care about money, Id rather help people than fantasize over what i could buy.
I'd look around closely, see which business/building I'd really want to have (since a lot of them won't make it because of this coronacrisis) to set up my own restaurant and buy it. So that when the crisis is over, I can run my own restaurant.
I would look into investing most of it into an account with decent intrest, so that would provide me with an income.
As despicable as I think that behaviour is in devaluing actual workers, I'd be an idiot not to utilise the systems of society as it is to ensure basic comfort.
The rest I would pay off debts, and those of some friends, then probably purchase our family a cyber-truck, maybe our own house.
