I understand that you probably won’t be able to use it but seems like he gave you something that he really took time to get you and put a lot of thought into getting it. So he probably thinks you don’t appreciate it since you want to exchange his gift for credit. I mean this telescope I’m sure you can use it when you go travel somewhere. The telescope can bring some cool memories maybe not right now but in the future I am sure.
