Any Lawyers on Here?

Hello, I have a particular question. I'm from Canada and I work as an engineer for a small consulting company. I've worked for this company for 10 months now. I signed an initial agreement. I signed it and chose this job opposed to anothers because it offered an open type of contract.

They have now asked me to sign a new agreement with many, many more restrictions. I won't be able to open my small business like I had planned and basically restricts me in all of North America for a period of 24 months after I would resign. It is very vague and they have offered me no extra compensation to sign this agreement. Can I refuse or ask for more money at the least? Are they legally allowed to do this to a pre-existing employee? Thanking you in advance!!!
