If Y is inversely proportional to X and Y= 15A when X= 5B, what is the value of Y when X = 25A?

This is a really easy question this time, no calculus here, the person who solves it first with details gets MHO.

No details = No MHO :)

@kda20 no calculus here so harry up lol

  • y varies inversely as x
    y = K / x , where K is any constant
    y = 15 when x = 5
    15 ( 5 ) = K = 75
    y = 75 / x
    When x = 25 ,
    y = 75 / 25
    y = 3

    • Your answer is wrong and right at the same time.

    • Show All
    • Xy = K

      K = 15A*5B = 75AB

      Now again Xy = K

      25A*Y = 75AB

      y= 3B

  • I literally didn't understand a thing. DAMN YOU MATH. But i know that if they are inversely proportional we will have y×1/x=k (plz tell me its correct)

    • Lol really? That is not calculus, as you can see the one who solves it is 15 years old

    • Yeah lads ( @hypno-trip ) - We will blame it on old age for tonight I got as far as 75 but got muddled after that the A and B confused me - My brain finds the substitution thing hard for some reason

    • Yeah I know you're bright, it's just an energy issue no worries ^_^

  • Y=C/X
    15A=C/5B
    75AB=C

    Y=75AB/25A
    Y=3B

    I wanted to wait for others to answer first.
