If you say "They usually don't go *blah, blah, blah*" or "They don't usually go *blah, blah, blah*"?
I don't know, but for me both sound correct, but our English teacher accepts just the second one...

Yeah, he wants you to learn it the perfect way. In a casual conversation this doesn't matter, people understand you. But your teacher can not teach you something thats grammatically incorrect, even when its accepted in a casual conversation.1
