Why do so many people say that they believe in micro evolution but not macro evolution (speciation) even though both have been directly observed?

And to clarify macro evolution is not one "kind" of organism evolving into another "kind" it's a tein nested heirarchy of speciation events giving rise to new clades within the parent organisms prexisting clade. For an organism to evolve into a separate clade of progenitors would violate the law of monophyly.
