I have noticed it works a little better than coffee. At least, it does for me.

see A lot of people merely THINK coffee wakes them up... its actually a placebo affect. Caffeine actually takes up to an hour and a half to start working. Most people by that time are already awake. if more people just let their bodies wake up naturally instead of thinking they need to rely on something, they wouldn't need coffee in the morning. ... as for your question, I'm not quite sure... maybe the body absorbs the sugar in the orange juice faster than it does the sugar and or caffeine in the coffee? ... not sure. also I'm not sure if this works for everyone either... but its an interesting question I'll give you that.2
