I'm moving to another city for a year contract and can't take my cat with me. My cat brings me so much comfort and happiness; he is like an emotional support animal to me. My parents will take care of him for me, but I don't know how I'm going to cope without him.

You should get your cat certified as a service pet for
helping you cope with anxiety, stress, depression and
you should be allowed to take him to where your going
service animals have to be allowed according to law
if you get a doctor to write you need your cat it should
go through for you.1

Register them as an emotional support animal and it'll be illegal for anyone to refuse you for that.
My mom did that with one of our pets.
(at least in the US I don't know if that'll work in other countries)0
