I believe so. I ended a friendship with someone after 14 years because of this. His character was starting to change at this point anyway, but he was my only close friend, so I simply tolerated him. However, most of our hangouts consisted of going to the pub or other places that served drink. In 2012, we walked home together after watching a soccer match one night, and he drunkenly hurled some abuse at me over past events & revealed his true opinions about me. It was the last straw & I didn’t want to deal with this toxic boy anymore. He phoned me up 10 days later, but I ignored it. He must’ve thought I was a push-over & that I’d forgive & forget just like that, but he was wrong! We never spoke again after that, even when we crossed paths, now that he got the picture. Surprisingly, I did receive one more phone-call from him a whole year later, but I still ignored it (by then, he was practically a stranger to me now). And that was definitely that. To this day, I still see him cycling around the area occasionally, but now we’re just two people who used to know each other... all thanks to his sober thoughts being revealed through his drunk words 🍺😪😓
They might be or they might not. They are unreliable. It depends on the person. At best it might be enough to give you a clue to look further into it. But you should not place too much weight on drunk words alone. You also have to consider that sober words are not always true either.
In my opinion, yes. My boyfriend can sometimes hide his emotions because he wants to be a strong man. He believes the only way he can Petray a strong figure is by bottling his emotions. When he is drunk however, he holds me tight and is very affectionate, he tells me how much he loves me and how lucky he is to have me. I won’t get too mushy but he says all kinds of things about me that he loves. It’s really cute and funny😂 but from that experience, yes I believe so.
I'm sober and have been for 3years and counting... bottomline is people use it as an excuse (alcohol) but it just loosens your inhibitions, you get confident to talk freely. It's more than likely the truth, the delivery might be off but yea people will just speak as they find.
Have an opinion?
Looking at avatar, I think that you are an LSD user. Are you?
Haha Absolutely not
Do you use any illegal drug? Just weed?
These kinds of mind altering looking avatars are used on drug forums. Lol :D
No illegal substances. Alcohol only. I quit the nicotine.
It's too individual to make any generalizations. I get loud and more passionate when I've had a bit too much but not always -- sometimes I'm laying on the floor and speaking disconnectedly; some people get angry; others get mean; I know another person that says she loves everyone.
I quit a while ago so that I could go full athletic. In hindsight I used to blame stupid crap on drinking and to some degree that was right but now I have no excuse for shooting my mouth off and most of what I said in a stupor is about what I say now. So I am not so sure "drunk words sober thoughts" with me.
I think tbat depends on if the person is blacked out drunk cause when im blacked out i heard I've spilled info on myself haha but when im hust drunk and shits dizzy and im just chilling i can still control what comes out of my mouth, and i think really reaply hard before i do something stupid but if im blacked out well... Hahhaa
Not at all... I had a habit of online shopping when I'd had a few beers a few years ago (it was my way of giving myself a surprise present lol), what was delivered in the next few days bare no relation to what my sober life required! lol
I believe they are what we have no courage to say... but unfortunately whilst being drunk they come out in the wrong way!
I am not at the moment.
False. When it comes to shooting the shit I typically lie about everything when I'm drunk. If I'm pissed I'm truthful but more to the extent of over exaggeration. I dont know why but that's who I am.
nope it's dilirious crap. yeah sometimes you may slip something in that you were actually thinking but that's a fluke.
Definitely. Alcohol is an enhancer. It removes personal restrictions which is why people are more vocal, aggressive, horny, and honest
For an alcoholic person i would say no. Alcohol fucks the brain and the way you think.
Nah I hate that shit. I just tell people not to listen to drunk me either
they can be but its not a rule so best to just ask again when they sobor up
Do Canadians drink a lot like some European countries or is it a nationality that prefers to stay sober?
i dont know, you would need to ask a Canadian but i will say this. just because europeans drink it doesn't mean we are all uncontrolably drunk all the time.
I thought you were Canadian.
so i gathered but i have no idea why... i know it says united kingdom under my name on the website just as i can see it says turkey under yours but even if you are on the app you should be able to tell from my accent im English lol
Sometimes yes. Sometimes no. That entirely depends on the context.
Depends on how drunk one is. I don't believe that great thought comes out after a bender, but a drink or two might help.
Yes sometimes. Sometimes drunk words are hypercritical.
Drunk words are drunk thoughts. Sometimes they reflect sober thoughts, sometimes they don't. Alcohol isn't a truth serum.
drunk words are the things u hold back from people, why i say u want the truth from someone, u either really piss them off or get them drunk XD
To an extend. I do think there is a grain of truth to what they say but the alcohol might result in exaggeration.
People use it as an excuse to do whatever they want and blame it on the alcohol which is really idiotic and stupid
They can be if you don’t have any restraint when you are drunk
Yes and no. Some people blabber things but others tell the truth
When Drunk as a Skunk, ONE IS SUNK:((xx
No, I don't believe that.
I too have always wonder this
I definitely agree🖤🤓
Not always, either which way.
Yes for the most part
LOL.. I definently think so.
They are generally exaggerated thoughts.
I said to my ex kurdish girlfriend that I am glad not all all eastern turkey people are kurds. She just blocked me for telling to truth that not everybody who lives in eastern turkey are kurds. She is kurdish by the way. And I said it when I was drunk. I still am.
I used to work as a guard at a drunk tank.I would listen to drunk people ramble on all night long. Most of the time they didn't have a clue what the fuck they were talking about.
It depends how drunk they are perhaps. If the guy remembers what he said the next day when he wake up, then he knew what he said but if he can't even remember what he said after he wake up the next day, then there is a problem.
depends on if they say it when their solber a lot
Its your subconcious coming out so yes
It is but OK
Based on what exactly? Alcohol simply lowers inhibitions. It isn't some liquid gateway to the subconscious mind.
Difference in opinions. there's theories it is and ill go on those. Agree to disagree!.
Can you share the names/publications of said theories? I'd be genuinely interested in reading them as it's not something I've come across before within the literature.
Google it, i see a lot of integratitive doctors and its part of cognitive behavior. Nothing that comes out drunk is nothing you do not mean, whether you want to believe it or not., somewhere in your subconcious mind its there buried or you just dont have the balls to say concious
Can you not link me an example? Or perhaps give me specific terms to google, as I've never heard of such a theory before. I don't want to end up reading something that misrepresents the idea that you're putting forward. It all sounds a bit Freudian for me, but I'm always open to new viewpoints.
I dont know man, i talk some shite when i'm drunk.
No, they're usually nonsense
yes, things we want to say
75% of the time
Yes many times
I don't think so.
In vino veritas
Usually I think
