When I was about three years old, my two older siblings had a birthday and my mother baked a cake for them. It was sitting on the edge of the table, next to the high chair in which I was seated. I was obviously not paying attention, leaned over, and placed my elbow in the middle of the cake. That made a bog crater in the middle of the cake.
My sister who was 9 or 10 years old, told me that the crater was actually a man hole, that men had been working in the man whole, and I had killed them when I put my elbow in the man hole. I actually believed her and started crying. That is probably my earliest childhood memory.
A superstition that our father passed on to us. If you see your reflection at night, you will have nightmares. Spent my childhood not looking in the mirror before going to bed, not looking in windows ar night. Like WTF? I eventually grew out of it and realised it's bullshit, but I can't believe he still believes crap like that. He is also afraid to cut his nails after dusk, go ourside of the house between midnight and dawn, afraid to get his path crossed by a black cat, afraid to talk about death. I'm atheist and he is religious so I can maybe understand where that is coming from.
The movie Wizard of Oz, if you're familiar, the beginning of the movie is shot in black and white until Dorothy lands in the merry ol land of Oz, then the movie turns to color. Well I thought this was because the world was black and white and halfway through filming the movie, the world turned into color. 😁

Peter Cotton Tail the Easter Bunny came to all the childrens houses every year in one night just like Santa Clause to leave chocolate. At least Santa Clause was Human, but to believe that a Rabbit had a never-ending basket of Easter Eggs, chocolate, jelly beans... C'mon... 🙆
The Apartment on top was the where the Funeral Director and his wife lived and the downstairs was the Funeral Home. I thought the Apartment upstairs was where Jesus was at and was Heaven. I don't think my Sister felt the same way but i did and that was so funny. All i can remember is seeing people come down them steps and it made me wonder well was Jesus up there and is that where Heaven and all the dead people went.
Humans where made out of something harder than flesh. I got the idea from watching colossus in x men in the old cartoons. I thought he transforms into like what we are skinless and believed we were metal beings until I saw that tiger villian in hulk? Get cut and I saw red and was like what’s that my mum said blood and after that I realised after asking her are we made from blood? LOL tbf it wasn’t dumb more you learn whst you see even if it’s wrong.
that the body of Christ would have to suffer through God's wrath (the time of Jacob's trouble) when we already made pure and clean, and white in the blood of the Lamb
Nothing! Because childhood beliefs are the best beliefs in the world! You will always find out that they were wrong but look back with such fondness and wish for your youth again
That your eyes attract lightning, so not to watch thunderstorms. My mom told me this, and she actually believed it, her mom told her the same thing and I guess "forgot" to tell her it wasn't true.
White cows gave regular white milk. Dark cows gave chocolate milk. But it makes so much sense though. White cow = White milk Dark cow = Chocolate milk What's not to believe?
The only thing odd that comes to mind is that one year (in elementary school) I just wouldn’t eat eggs. I don’t really know why, but I refused to eat them that entire year.
The idea that the reason why I have curly hair is because I never let my mother brush it when I was younger. I have an extremely opinionated older brother who would tell me dumb things like that when I was growing up.
I used to believe that one. Till one day I was so mad at her. I jumpped on a crack in the sidewalk. Nothing happened... Thats when I stopped believing in that one.
I thought that if you were born a girl, you’d turn into a boy, and visa versa. None of the women in my family are flat chested, so as a young prepubescent with no chest, I thought I was going to be a boy.
when my friends and I played hide and seek in elementary i used to believe that when I couldn't see them, they wouldn't be able to see me either. Can't believe how dumb I was
But fairys lived in mushrooms 🧚♂️🍄 my my grandad and grandma would tell me this when walking In the wood with them so I wouldn't touch them and would let the fairys sleep
That my penis would fall of if I got it near a girl. That fell apart when I was 13 and 15 year old neighbor girl jacked me off. The next week she fucked me. I still have it so guess it was not true.
