So do you mean a fear of there being an afterlife? Why does that scare you?
It's more the fear of the idea of Eternity, which is a bit troubling for me seeing as I'm a devout Christian. As for why it scares me, the concept of living forever and ever and ever without end unnerves me. I don't like it, I don't want anything to do with it. So the fact that one day I will die, one day my time on this earth will be over, that fact comforts me.
So even in heaven, does the idea of it lasting forever bother you? Or do you just mean you want life on earth to end?
The former. I don't like the idea of heaven, which is a problem because as a Christian I have to believe it's real. I can't just cherry pickwhich parts of the bible to believe and which ones to ignore, it doesn't work like that. So whenever pasters talk about heaven, I just tune them out however I can. I just have to hope that when I get to heaven, God will take this fear from me.
That's so interesting. You're the first Christian I've heard of who doesn't like the idea of heaven. For most Christians, that's the best part of the religion. And I do think that after you actually get there, you won't have fear of it anymore. You would probably be very happy. Things would be very very different there than they are here on earth, so most likely, you would like it.
Most people who have apeirophobia aren't going to be very religious, because that's where you're going to encounter the idea of Eternity. I know that when we get to heaven we'll supposedly be perfect, which I assume to mean that we will no longer suffer from any disabilities or illnesses that tormented Us in life. I just hope God sees debilitating fear as falling under one of those categories.
I think all fear, pain, and stress will be taken away.
I sure hope so. Until then, I'll continue to keep heaven as an after thought.
