Do we have to be careful what we wish for?

Anonymous
Long ago, I wished for and even loudly said it (in a mocking tone) ''I wish I never got pregnant, I wish I never had a child''. I would live to regret it later years.

Note:
- Special circumstances happened
- I had health issues for 4-5 years and it got fixed through an operation
- My money got wasted on a worthless BA degree and the surgery
- I can't afford for an at this moment apartment (I'm living with my parents)
- My long-distance boyfriend was gonna visit me but it's been postponed due to the pandemic
- I'm 33 years and childless as a result

I've heard the phrase ''Be careful what you wished for, you just might get it'' several times. How true is that? Do we have to be careful with what we wished?
